During the March and April drill weekends, Officer Candidate School, Class 046, conducted tactics training classes and advanced to "Senior" status. In March, the class learned the proper techniques for camouflaging themselves and their equipment. In addition, the students began tactical operations and movements in accordance with FM 7-8.

During the April drill weekend, Candidates travelled to Camp  Baker, Maryland to continue their tactical training. The drill weekend included a 12-mile road march to standard, a graduation requirement for all Officer Candidates. The entire class completed the road march, all eleven crossing the finish line together as "One Team, One Mission" (in keeping with the class motto.)

After completing the ruck march, Officer Candidates from Maryland and Delaware were treated to an open-ranks formation ceremony, while suited up in their full march load, where the TAC (train, assess, counsel) Officers promoted them to "Senior" status, and the privilege to wear the coveted blue-backed rank. Tradition holds that Officer Canidates in senior status should conduct themselves as if they were "3rd Lieutenants."

Congratulations, Class 046 and keep going strong!
