Family Day Picnic 2002
By Maj. Jane Zak, 198th Signal Battalion

The 198th Signal Battalion hosted the annual family day picnic at Brandywine Springs Park. Over fifty soldiers, family members, and friends were in attendance for this event. Highlights of the day included, the annual softball tournament and the retirement ceremony of SGM (Ret) Jim Steele. The water balloon fight, candy toss and four-way tug-o-war were favorites for the children who attended.

OUT OR SAFE? Sgt. 1st Class Moody and Pfc. Washington battle for position on second base during a play. (Washington was safe – Moody was cited for obstructing the runner.)

A big smile proved to be a winning tactic in the Candy Toss.

Even the youngest members of the 198th took part in the water balloon fight.
