DNG Rifle Team takes first place in MACII Regional

The Delaware National Guard Marksmanship Team poses with awards
won during the MAC (Marksmanship Advisory Committee) Region II
Match, held on August 9-11 at Fort Indiantown Gap, Penn.
| The Delaware National Guard Rifle Team placed
first overall in the MAC II (Marksmanship Advisory Council, Region II)
Regional Match last weekend at Ft Indiantown Gap, PA. Soldiers
from the 249th Engineer Company won top honors against the
Region's best riflemen. Our Pistol Team also placed third overall in their
competitions. Twenty-one soldiers in total from the DNG Marksmanship Team
participated. Approximately 90 shooters from Pennsylvania, Maryland, New
York, Virginia and Delaware competed in the match.
Individuals selected from the DNG Rifle Team will go on to
represent the state at the Winston P. Wilson National Matches
held at Camp Robinson, Little Rock, Ark. October 5-11.

Sgt. Wayne Wilson, 249th Engineer Detachment, Sgt. William
Johnson, 280th Signal Battalion, and Capt. John Fisher, 249th
Engineer Detachment practice firing Match 221 (EIC - Excellence In
Competition) at the New Castle Rifle Range on August 3. Maj. John
Edwards, rear, State Marksmanship Coordinator, issues the commands
and times the course of fire. The soldiers are practicing for the
upcoming MAC (Marksmanship Advisory Committee) Region II Match, held
on August 9-11 at Fort Indiantown Gap, Penn.
