Duffy sets the standard during technical training at Keesler AFB

Airman Basic Jean Duffy uses the Information Management skills she learned during he technical training, where she received a perfect score of 100%.

In the fall of 2001 Jean Duffy enlisted as a third-generation member of the 166 Airlift Wing, beginning her journey as an Information Manager, to be assigned to the 166 Logistics Support Flight. Airman Basic Jean Duffy has, since her October 2001 enlistment date, completed both Basic Military Training at Lackland Air Force Base, Texas, and the six week Information Management Technical Training School at Keesler Air Force Base, Mississippi.

These are solid accomplishments for anyone, but fairly typical. However, she didn’t settle for the typical. In fact, Airman Duffy became the first member of the DE ANG, in its almost 60-year history, score a perfect 100% throughout the duration of her technical training. In order for her to attain this score in her field, Airman Duffy was trained and tested in all Microsoft Office tools, RIMS (Records Information Management System), Basic Computer Maintenance, formatting, word processing, and more, and never missed even a single exam question.

"I joined to follow the family tradition and to take advantage of the school benefits," Duffy says, referring to her family’s presence in the DE ANG: her father, Master Sgt. John Duffy, 166 Maintenance Squadron, and his sister, Master Sgt. Helen Grubb, 166 Maintenance Squadron, and his brother in law, Senior Master Sgt. George Grubb, 166 Logistics Squadron.

When asked about future plans here in the Delaware Air National Guard, Airman Duffy responded, "I’m looking forward to my first stripe!"
