Delaware National Guard Multi-talented Fields showcases talents, performs during 261st's holiday party
261st Signal Brigade When Master Sgt. Henry Fields transferred to the 261st Signal Brigade recently, Col. Terry Greenwell, Deputy Commander, said he was excited because of Fields’ expertise in the logistics arena. Little did the unit's leaders know, but Fields also has tremendous talent as a singer that had not been recognized previously by the Guard. On Sunday, he gave the soldiers and families of the 261st a special treat when he sang patriotic tunes and holiday melodies during the dinner meal. Fields said that his singing career has branched out into several areas over the last five years. He sings gospel in his church; and he volunteers to sing in nursing homes and prisons. He has taken many of the traditional holiday songs and changed the words to ‘put Christ back in Christmas.' These songs have been so well received that he will be going to the studio on Wednesday, December 5th, to record his first compact disc (CD).
