259th celebrates holidays, recognizes top performers during December drill

During the 259th’s Annual Christmas Party, Capt. Garland A. Pennington recognized several soldiers for their outstanding achievements. Sgt. Marion Drayton and Sgt. Bruse Hibbs were both presented with the Army Achievement Medal for the outstanding efforts they portrayed during annual training at Grecian Firebolt ‘02. During the time period of June 15 through June 29 2002 both noncommissioned officers displayed the highest caliber of devotion to their soldiers and their duty, exemplifying the true meaning of professionalism to the 259th Signal Company (Light Tropo). Sgt. Thomas, Spc. Barber, and Spc. Wilson also received Army Achievement Medals for their outstanding efforts in preparing for the 259th’s COMET Inspection. Their exceptional efforts contributed to the 259th passing the COMET Inspection in all inspected areas. Additionally, Capt. Pennington, Sgt. 1st Class Brian Perry, Staff Sgt. Hudgins, and Spc. Thomas Dougherty received company certificates of excellence for maintaining a score of 250 or better on their Army Physical Fitness Test.
