Delaware Guard Assists Salvation Army
By Maj. Len Gratteri, State Public Affairs Officer

Tech Sgt. John Caruso meets some new friends while volunteering with the Salvation Army.

Once again this year, the Delaware National Guard will assist the Salvation Army in collecting donations by Ringing the Bell at local storefronts during the holiday season.  Last year we "manned" the Salvation Army's red collection kettle for 80 hours and this year, through the work of our Air Guard's Capt. Scott Hudson and the troops of the Delaware Guard, we're committed to helping out for 100 hours.

There's still time to sign up with Capt. Hudson at 323-3508 if you are interested in helping out at the locations listed below.  Shifts are one hour long.  We start ringing the bell at 1700 and end at 2100.

10 Dec - Wal-Mart (New Castle/Bear)
11 Dec - Super G (Eden Square)
12 Dec - Wal-Mart (New Castle/Bear)
16 - 20 Dec - Christiana Mall (Food Court Entrance)

The Delaware Guard will "man" the red collection kettle for 100 hours this holiday season.  Here, some shoppers stop to make a donation.
