Aviation deployment supports Combat Maneuver
Training Center in Germany
Eight personnel from Company A 3/126 Aviation and twelve personnel from Company C 2/126 Aviation represented Delaware Army Aviation while on recent deployment to Hohenfels, Germany. Their mission: to support the aviation assets of the Combat Maneuver Training Center (CMTC). Awards, promotions presented to 287th Army Band members Who is the 721st Troop Command? The 721st Troop Command came into existence in the Delaware Army National Guard on December 1. It is not a new unit, but a significant renaming of the former Det. 3, State Area Command (1st Battalion, 72nd Troop Command). Co. C Holiday Party to be their last hoorah Members of Co. C 2/126th Avation and their families enjoyed the annual Christmas party which included a visit from Santa. This is the last drill for Co. C. The members of the Aviation Company will be newly assigned to either of the two new units including the new Blackhawk unit and the new Medivac unit. This year's Maintenance Excellence Award was awarded to the 262nd Maintenance Company during ceremonies held at the new Dagsboro Readiness Center in Dagsboro, on December 7. Signal Battalion gathered at Frightland on October 26th and the 27th for a
recruiting event. Also on hand to help this with this recruiting
effort were members of the A Company 3rd Battalion, 126th Aviation and
C Company 2nd Battalion, 126th Aviation.
Aviation changes take wing After the initial flock of three UH-60A Blackhawks arrived from Germany, the fourth bird landed on September 22, by way of an Air Force C-17 cargo aircraft. Shortly after, the Aviation Facility sent a crew of eight full-time staff to Fort Bragg, North Carolina, to receive two more Blackhawks. 166th Airlift Wing has new Vice Wing Commander Col. Ernest Talbert, commander of the 166th Airlift Wing, Delaware Air National Guard, announced on November 25 that Lt. Col. Dan Van Wyk is the new vice wing commander, effective immediately. 262nd Maintenance Co. mechanics get taken for a ride Thirteen soldiers from the 262nd Maintenance Company (GS), Dagsboro, traveled to Ft. Indiantown Gap for hands-on maintenance training the weekend of November 1-3.
