Keeping up with the 'CSM shuffle' at 261st Signal Brigade

The Senior Non-Commissioned Officers of the 261st Signal Brigade: Command Sgt. Maj. Gerald Abbott, Sgt. Maj. Scott Artebrigde, Command Sgt. Maj. Dennis Lindgren, Command Sgt. Maj. Paul Breeding, Command Sgt. Maj. Dave Carden, Sgt. Maj. Robert Wilson and Sgt. Maj. Bill Garner. (Not pictured, Sgt. Maj. Edwin Cooke)

2002 is the ‘Sergeant Major Year of Change’ at the 261st Signal Brigade. Sgt. Maj. Bill Garner and Sgt. Maj. Edwin Cooke, who are dual-slotted in the Signal Plans NCO position at the 261st Signal Brigade, will retire in April and May, respectively. Command Sgt. Maj. Gerald Abbott, Command Sergeant Major for the 261st Signal Brigade will retire in August. Based on these retirements, the following changes will occur:

  • Command Sgt. Maj. Paul Breeding will replace Command Sgt. Maj. Gerald Abbott as the Sergeant Major of the 261st Signal Brigade
  • Sgt. Maj. Robert Wilson will replace Sgt. Maj. Bill Garner and Sgt. Maj. Edwin Cooke as the Signal Plans NCO of the 261st Signal Brigade
  • Sgt. Maj. Scott Arterbridge will replace Command Sgt. Maj. Paul Breeding as the Command Sergeant Major of the 280th Signal Battalion.

We give sincere thanks to our retirees for their years of hard work, dedication and commitment to our unit, the Delaware National Guard, and the United States Army. Their contributions are numerous and their impact to the organization immeasurable. We wish Command Sgt. Maj. Breeding, Sgt. Maj. Wilson, and Sgt. Maj. Arterbridge the best of luck in their new positions.

Promotions:

SGM Robert Wilson
Master Sgt. Bob Wilson was promoted to Sergeant Major at the 280th Signal Battalion Headquarters in Georgetown on Sunday, Feb. 10. Sgt. Maj. Wilson's wife Sharon and Capt. James Benson, commander of the 259th TROPO Company, assisted with the ceremony. Sgt. Maj. Wilson will transfer to the 261st Signal Brigade in March into the position of Signal Plans NCO, replacing Sgt. Maj. Bill Garner, who is retiring in April.
