Battle Lab simulates wartime scenario for signal units
During the January MUTA, elements of the 261st Signal Brigade and its subordinate battalions (198th and 280th) assembled at the Training and Training Technology Battle Lab (T3BL) at Ft. Dix, New Jersey to conduct a Simulation Exercise (SIMEX) which would prepare them to deploy overseas in support of a war-time mission.

Ceremony marks new Task Force, future 2nd Bn for 72nd Troop Command
A ceremony that marked the unfurling of the battalion colors for Task Force 2nd of the 72nd Troop Command (TF 2-72TC) was held on January 20.
 
BX/PX finds brand new home, offers same super service

On Tuesday, January 15 the BX/PX moved from next to the Duncan Readiness Center to the old operations building at the Air National Guard Base on New Castle County Airport. The new BX/PX is in renovated space and is a modern facility. It offers all the same amenities, such as dry cleaning, photo developing, snacks, drinks, magazines, etc., but also has sandwiches, pizza and a cappuccino machine.

Flag ceremony opens State Legislature's 141st General Assembly
When the Delaware State Legislature opened its 141st General Assembly on January 8, The Delaware National Guard was honored to conduct a flag ceremony, opening the session for our House of Representatives.

Legislative priorities addressed during January meeting
Recently, the Delaware National Guard hosted congressional and gubernatorial staffers to relate the our federal priorities. Tom Lewis and Erin Logan from Senator Biden’s office, Lori James from Senator Carper’s office, Jeff Dayton, Kate Johnson, and Jack Morton from Congressman Castle’s office, and Kate Finnerty from Governor Minner’s Washington office attended the meeting.

Delaware Revolutionary War hero honored
DOVER - Col. John Haslet, a Delaware military leader in the Revolutionary War, was honored during the 225th anniversary of the battle in which he died fighting.

The Delaware Public Archives dedicated a monument to Col. Haslet at Battle Monument Park in Princeton, N.J., on Sunday, December 30.

In October, members of the Delaware Air National Guard's 142nd Aeromedical Evacuation Squadron were activated under President Bush's Partial Mobilization.
