On July 20, the Delaware
Army National Guard’s Col. Henry McCann completed the highest level of
professional military education in graduating from the U.S. Army War
College in a ceremony held at Carlisle Barracks, PA.. McCann was Class
Vice President at the War College and serves as the Deputy Commander of
the 261st Signal Brigade.
Chief of Staff, U.S. Army, General Eric Shinseki was the guest speaker,
congratulating the Class of 2001 and challenging them to help lead the
Army through its transition phase into a fighting force for the future.

The U.S. Army War College Distance Education Class of 2001 was
comprised of 301 students who represent a broad spectrum of backgrounds
and experiences in military service. In the group were 101 Army National
Guard officers, 131 Army Reserve officers, 57 Active Duty Army officers, 2
Department of the Army Civilians, 3 Marine Corps officers, 4 Marine Corps
Reserve officers, 2 Naval Reserve officers and one International Fellow.
All completed a demanding course of intensive instruction by
correspondence over a two-year period, including four weeks of resident
instruction at the College.
