Hot airmen help keep seniors cool

Radio station 104.5 FM "Alice" out of Philadelphia held a "Who's the Hottest" contest, offering a free air conditioner to the most convincing caller on June 27. The contest came on the day after his Security Forces commander and 12 other reservists returned from deployment in the Middle East. They had just spent 90 days in temperatures above 110 degrees, making the heat wave in our area of 90-something seem rather cool. When the radio station broadcaster heard about Dellavella's co-workers, and his plans to donate the air conditioner  to a local Senior Center, the broadcaster was convinced to award Dellavella the prize.
