Pentagon debunks myths from field about new beret
Merely a few days away, June 14th marks the Army's birthday and the official donning of the new black beret. While most soldiers in the Delaware Army National Guard received instruction when they received their first headgear issue, the correct wear and care still remains a question for many soldiers.
 
State Tuition Program Alive and Well
"The program had a scare this fiscal year but the bottom line is this: Even with the necessary changes, our Program is Alive and Well," said Adjutant General, Frank Vavala. A detailed briefing of the revisions to the program was scheduled for the members of both the Army and Air National Guard during June’s drill weekend. In addition several evening "Town Meetings" will be scheduled to answer questions.

The Delaware Army National Guard’s 160th Engineering Detachment is helping out Dover Air Force Base by laying the foundation for the reconstruction of Perimeter Road.
 
Roadwork project promises valuable service for base, training for 160th
The 160th Engineers were hard at work on the Dover Air Force Base this weekend repairing a key road. This project will take about two years to complete on drill weekends.
 
Delaware Guard Marathon Team steps it up in Nebraska
In May, the Delaware National Guard Marathon Team traveled to Lincoln, Nebraska to compete in the 18th Annual National Guard Bureau Marathon Trials and Recruiting Workshop. The trails were held during the 24th Annual Lincoln Marathon and more then 220 Guard members competed, representing nearly every state and U.S. territory. All five runners from the Delaware team completed the grueling 26.2-mile race and placed 22nd in the team competition.
