Guard soldier earns top grad at Delaware State University
Sgt. Christopher Guest of Newark, a soldier in the Delaware National Guard, earned the 2002 President’s Award at Delaware State University in Dover, as class valedictorian. The top graduate maintained a perfect 4.0 grade point average during his four years at the university and earned a dual major in Aircraft Systems Management and Airways Science Management.

Air Guard supports Delaware Special Olympics 2002
The Delaware Air National Guard sent 75 volunteers to help promote the Olympic spirit June 6-8 as more than 1,100 athletes participated in the 2002 Delaware Special Olympics in Newark, Delaware, at the University of Delaware athletic complex.

Delaware Air Guard Firefighters named Fire Department of Year
Delaware’s own 166th Airlift Wing Fire Department has been selected by an impartial panel as the Air National Guard Fire Department of the Year for 2001. In June, the unit received notification from Chief Master Sgt. Larry Hall, Fire Chief of the 151st Air Refueling Wing in Salt Lake City, Utah, and President of the Air National Guard Fire Chiefs Association.
