Large crowd rallies to support our troops
Dan Gaffney of WGMD 92.7 held a rally to support our troops on Saturday, March 8, at Rehoboth Beach. Over 2000 came out to show their support by wearing their colors, singing songs and cheering on the many soldiers being deployed.

MPs train to respond in Saudia Arabia

Scott competes in US Navy Blue Angels Marathon
Maj. Holly Scott of the Delaware Army Guard's 72nd Troop Command participated in the 20th Annual U.S. Navy "Blue Angels Marathon" in Pensacola, Florida in February. Scott is a member of the National Guard's All-Guard Marathon Team, which placed 1st Overall in the Military Team Division.

Senior leaders briefed on Guard's strategic vision
Senior leaders, including officers, warrant officers and noncommissioned officers, of Delaware's Army and Air National Guard met in February for the fourth annual Senior Leaders Conference.
 
Girl Scouts donate cookies to deployed troops
Members of Girl Scout Brownie Troops 387 and 235, and Junior Troop 778 of Tinicum Township donated 31 cases totaling 365 boxes of assorted Girl Scout cookies to men and women deployed overseas in support of military operations.

Det. 2 280th Signal Bn. deploys in support of Noble Eagle
The 137 members of this newly named detachment of the 280th Signal Battalion were activated on January 30 in support of Noble Eagle. The unit’s mission is to provide Force Protection in the state of Delaware. Specifically, they will provide site security for federal facilities such as Dover Air Force Base and the New Castle County Airport.

Blue Hen Chapter News – Signal Corps Regimental Association
The Blue Hen Chapter held its Annual Elections for Officers on November 22. During the chapter social that followed the elections, Chapter President Col. Hank McCann reflected on accomplishments to date and discussed the goals for 2003.

OCS board selects 12 for new class

During the February drill weekend 12 Officer Candidates appeared before the program's selection board, headed up by Brig. Gen. Ronald B. Stewart, Assistant Adjutant General, Delaware Army National Guard.

Friends, family and leaders of the Delaware National Guard said "so long" to ten soldiers of Detachment 2, Company E, 131st aviation in a departure ceremony held pn Sunday, February 9, at the SBI Duncan Readiness Center in New Castle.

Engineers say "I do"
Four soldiers from the 249th Engineer Detachment got a head start on Valentine’s Day as they married their sweethearts on February 10th – the first day the unit reported for a year-long activation in support of Operation Enduring Freedom.

New readiness center taking shape
The Delaware Army National Guard's newest readiness center, which will soon be home to the 261st Signal Brigade, 721st Troop Command and 31st Civil Support Team (WMD), is nearing completion in Smyrna.
