The Delaware National Guard Marathon Team traveled to Lincoln, Nebraska on May 3rd to compete in the 25th Annual Lincoln Marathon.

For the past 19 years, the Lincoln Marathon has also served as the site for the National Guard Marathon trials. This year, almost 950 runners, including 250 Army and Air National Guard personnel from nearly all 54 states and territories, completed the race.

For the second time in three years, Maj. Holly Scott, 72nd Troop Command, captured first place honors overall in the National Guard woman's division. Her time of 3:16:42 beat out her closest NG competitor by almost 25 minutes. As a result of her accomplishment, she earned a spot on the All-Guard marathon team and will represent the National Guard in an upcoming national competition. This is the seventh time she has been selected to the national team.

Other soldiers who completed the marathon were: Warrant Officer Candidate Greg Calloway (3:21:02) and Staff Sgt. Mike Jochen (4:10:13), both with the 287th Army Band, and Lt. Col. Dan Arena, Headquarters STARC (4:20:11). This was Jochen's first National Guard marathon while Arena, Scott and Calloway each completed the Lincoln marathon for the seventh time.

Congratulations to our team and thanks for representing the Delaware Guard well.
