Det. 1, 262 Maintenance Co. 'Turning Wrenches'
Members of Detachment 1, 262nd Maintenance Company (GS), when not preparing for possible deployment, spend many of their weekend drills at the Combined Services Maintenance facility at River Road doing what they"re in the Delaware National Guard to do: "Turn wrenches and fix stuff."


Family Volunteer Recognition Luncheon held

The Delaware National Guard, Family Program Office, along with Maj. Gen. Frank D. Vavala, the Adjutant General for Delaware, and Colonel Ernest G. Talbert, the Wing Commander of the 166th Airlift Wing, recognized the efforts and self sacrifices made by all family volunteers who serve and support our deployed Delaware National Guard members and families.


153rd MPs return home
More than 300 family members, friends and other supporters welcomed home the Delaware Army National Guard's 153rd Military Police Company on May 24.

Delaware Guard soldiers wins marathon

Saturday, April 26, was a cold, rainy, miserable day in northern Delaware. While most people were either still asleep or just getting out of bed to enjoy their first cup of coffee, Warrant Officer Greg Calloway of the Delaware Army National Guard was busy running up and down muddy hills and crossing rivers in Newark's White Clay Creek State Park.

444th MPAD: Bringing the story home
The world has seen a lot of changes in the past three months: The liberation of Iraq. The fall of Saddam Hussein. The mobilization of an ever-increasing Guard and Reserve force to confront conflicts overseas. Helping to bring those stories into the homes of all has been the job of the Delaware Army National Guard’s Det. 1, 444th Mobile Public Affairs Detachment.

Security Forces Personnel earn Air Achievement Medals Master Sgt. Kenneth J. Knox and Tech. Sgt. John A. Cargan of the 166th Security Forces Squadron earned the Air Achievement Medal for sustained meritorious achievement while participating in aerial flight.

Evans retires after 24 years of service
Sgt. 1st Class Becky S. Evans celebrated her retirement at Crabber’s cove in Dewey Beach after 24 years of service. With many of her friends and family gathered to wish her well, she received many fine gifts and was awarded the State Command Sgt. Maj. James Vavala Presentation, the Order of the Griffin, and the Meritorious Service Medal.

Soldiers earn 'airman' of quarter award
The Airman and Non Commissioned Officer of the Quarter process at the Security Forces Squadron on Dover Air Force Base was augmented to include the Delaware Army National Guard soldiers this quarter.
