The 945th Collection and Classification Company received The Delaware Army National Guard TY-01 (Training Year 2001) Army Award for Maintenance Excellence during the November drill weekend.

The unit distinguished itself in the maintenance and sustainment of their material readiness posture through the implementation and execution of a highly successful Maintenance Management Program. Success was measured from an evaluation of a variety of sources to include:

  • Unit Maintenance SOP,
  • Command Inspections,
  • COMET Inspections,
  • AMSS reports and
  • Innovative programs that promote material readiness.

The evaluation was conducted using the same criteria as the HQDA Army Award for Maintenance Excellence. The awards nomination packages were reviewed by a highly competent panel of maintenance evaluators and scrutinized for administrative accuracy as well as documentation and validation of achievements.

The 945th has both set the standard for all units of the DEARNG to aspire to and taken on new challenges for Training Year 2002. The unit will be striving to defend their elite status during TY-02, to successfully compete for TY-02 maintenance honors, and to attain to consideration and nomination for competition at the HQDA (Headquarters Department of Army) Army Award Maintenance Excellence level.
