Marine Corps Marathon
stays on course; Scott makes division top

Maj. Holly Scott, Headquarters, 72nd Troop Command, finished 9th in her division during the Annual Marine Corps Marathon in Washington, D.C. on October 28. Scott trains regularly for races including the Lincoln Marathon, the Blue Angels Marathon, and the Air Force Marathon. This year marked Scott's sixth Marine Corps Marathon. Runners from hundreds of countries all across the globe, participate in the extremely competitive Marine Corps Marathon each year. This year The Marine Corps Marathon stayed on course, despite cancellation of the Army's 10-miler. Race officials had to make minimal adjustments for damaged spots along miles four through six located at the Pentagon, due the effects of destruction on September 11. In additon, six police jurisdictions and the marathon staff worked extra duty to ensure the maximum safety of runners, volunteers and spectators.
