Co. C, 126th Aviation changes command

Capt. Chris Dooner relinquished command of 126th Aviation, Company C, to Capt. Darin Schuster during a ceremony held at the Duncan Armory on Sunday, November 17.

Dooner introduced soldiers of 126th Aviation, Company C, to Schuster, the assuming commander of Company C. Dooner will be moving to a position at STARC as the new State Aviation Safety Officer.

"Without your hard work, I would not be here," said Dooner, as he acknowledged how appreciative he was of the efforts of Company C. Col. Henry McCann, 72nd Troop Command, Brigade Commander, further confirmed the exceptional performance of Company C during Dooner's tenure.

In closing, he spoke of the honor of serving with the Aviation Company, and he assured his soldiers of the capacity of Schuster, the incoming commander.

Capt. Darin Schuster was commissioned as an aviation officer in The University of North Dakota’s ROTC program. He has served as Platoon Leader and Company Executive Officer for Company D, 4/123rd Aviation Regiment as well as Company C, 10th Aviation Regiment. He is a graduate of four military schools and earned a Bachelor of Science in Aviation Management while at the University of ND. He also holds several decorations, including the National Defense Medal with bronze star device.

Capt. Schuster lives in Wilmington with his wife, Rebecca.
