command of Company A, 3rd Battalion, 126 Aviation from Maj. Robert A.
Sullivan during a formal ceremony on September 15 at the S. B. Duncan

"I’m honored to be taking command of such an outstanding

to have fun, (and) train hard, but do it in a safe way."
Evans is a resident of Wilmington. He graduated from Miami
University, Oxford, Ohio, in 1989 with a bachelor's degree in sociology.
He started his military career as a U. S. Army Helicopter Mechanic at Fort
Campbell, KY and in Germany from 1983 through 1986, and served in the Ohio
National Guard from 1987 to 1990. His prior assignments include Platoon
leader/Nuclear Biological Chemical Officer and Aviation Training and
Operation Division Action Officer. He assumes command of Company A after
serving as its Operations Officer since October 1997. He has served the
state of Delaware as a state trooper since 1994 and is also a certified
FAA commercial helicopter pilot, having served as a helicopter line pilot
for the Delaware State Police for almost six years, from 1996 through May
of this year.
