261st Honors Dinner 2002
By Maj. Jane Zak, 198th Signal Battalion

The 261st Signal Brigade will host its 33rd Annual Honors Dinner on Saturday, October 26, from 6 p.m. until midnight at The Landings, Dover Air Force Base. Brig. Gen. James Dougherty is pleased to announce that this year’s guest speaker will be Col. Perry L. Bridges, Chief of Staff, U.S. Army Communications-Electronics Command (CECOM).

One of the primary goals this year is to expose more junior soldiers to the tradition of the Honor’s Dinner. The following individuals will be attending as guests of Brig. Gen. Dougherty: the brigade’s nomination for soldier and NCO of the year, and four of the OCS Candidates who have an interest in becoming Signal Officers. Additionally, each company commander/first sergeant will be inviting a young soldier (E-5 and below) as their guests at the dinner.

Wine glasses with unit crests from the three organizations (261st Signal Brigade, 198th Signal Battalion, and 280th Signal Battalion) will be given as gifts to all guests; and, for the second consecutive year, ‘Doc Dollars’ will be incorporated into the after-party events which will be sponsored by the Blue Hen Chapter of the Signal Corps Regimental Association.

This event is open to all soldiers. For additional information on this event, please contact Maj. David LaPanne 326-7056 or Maj. Jane Zak (758-7116).
