261st Honors Dinner 2002

This year’s Honors Dinner is guaranteed to be a memorable event for all those who attend. To date response has been much greater than anticipated – but it’s still not to late to RSVP for the dinner which will be held on Saturday, October 26th, 1800 – 2400 hrs at The Landings, Dover Air Force Base.

Honors Dinner 2002 Events:

Guest Speaker:COL Perry L. Bridges, Chief of Staff, U.S. Army Communications-Electronics Command (CECOM).

Delaware National Guard Heritage Committee Display:
The Delaware National Guard Heritage Committee will have an information table at the Honors Dinner event. This non-profit organization has organized with the goal of preserving the long and noble military history of our state, which dates back to 1655. The Committee will have information available on their projects which include the creation of a state military history museum – an effort to pull all of the memorabilia in museums and private collections together in one location to present to the public.

Also on display will be prints of the recently dedicated National Guard Heritage Painting by Domenick D’Andrea ‘The Battle of Long Island.’ Orders forms will be available for anyone who is interested in purchasing copies of the print.

CPT Walt Bruhl, HHD, 198th Signal Battalion models the new t-shirt.

261st T-shirt Sale:
The 261st Honors Dinner committee is currently selling brigade T-shirts for $10. The shirt has the Signal Regiment crest on the right front breast pocket; and, the logo ‘One Team, Any Mission, Innovators In Battlefield Technology’ with all unit’s crests (261st, 198th, 280th) on the back.

Regimental Jeopardy:
The Blue Hen Chapter of the Signal Corps Regimental Association will host the 1st ‘Regimental Jeopardy’ tournament during the after-party at The Landings. Captain Frank Blackmon, 280th Signal Battalion, will serve as the Master of Ceremonies for this year’s event. Using this years Doc Dollars, teams of four individuals can compete to qualify for door prizes and the prestigious title of ‘Regimental Jeopardy Champions’. Categories will include ‘Regimental History’, ‘Signal Corps’, Army Acronyms’, ‘Current Events’, ‘Prime Time TV’, and ‘Cooking’.
