Delaware National Guard Essick awarded scholarship By Col. Hugh Broomall, USP&FO Congratulations go to Ms. Rita Essick, Delaware’s United States Property & Fiscal Office, Internal Review, for winning her second Fresh Start scholarship for academic excellence that was registered on her behalf at Wesley College Center for Adult Studies in New Castle. A dinner, in her honor, was held at the Wilmington Wisk Club with over 150 people in attendance. The scholarship was bestowed by Wilmington's Women in Business, Inc., a professionals organization comprised of Lawyers, Doctors, Accountants, Architects, Engineers, & Business Owners in the greater Wilmington area. The scholarship award has strict criteria. The student must be over 35, a full time student in a four-year program, maintain a 3.2 GPA, and submit essays on specific topics pertaining to challenges since last attending college and another about personal and professional goals and aspirations. Ms. Essick is a full time Business Administration student at Wesley maintaining a 3.42 GPA. She expects to graduate Spring 2003. We are fortunate to have Rita as an employee of USPFO especially Internal Review - we extend our best wishes and continued success.
