Deployed airman supports Operation Enduring Freedom

Master Sgt. Mitch Gauge, chief of our 166th Airlift Wing Fire Department, is currently deployed overseas to a classified forward operating location in direct support of the Air Force effort in Operation Enduring Freedom.

He works with other deployed personnel from across the United States, to include troops from California, Florida and even elements of a Civil Engineer squadron from Dover Air Force Base. Gauge serves as the Base Fire Chief with nearly 50 firefighters in the organization.

Although the location and mission are classified, Master Sgt. Gauge will keep us up to date on his deployment through emails and photographs.
