Delaware Air Guard Team Win Wilmington Industrial League
Golf Championship
The Delaware ANG Gold Team won the Wilmington Industrial Golf League Championship this summer in a match held Sunday, Sept. 8, 2002, at the Chesapeake Bay Golf Club in Northeast, Maryland. Air Guard retirees reunite at annual breakfast celebration The annual Delaware Air Guard Retirees’ Breakfast was held at the New Castle County Airport on Friday, September 13. Like father, like son: two Air Guardsmen promoted Maj. Norman H. Brooks, Jr., a Senior Staff Judge Advocate in the base legal office, or JAG (Judge Advocate General) office, was promoted to the rank of Lt. Colonel. On the same day, his son, Senior Airman Jason T. Brooks, was promoted to Staff Sgt. Air Guardsman, local lumber company help build playground in Gulf region Volunteers at a forward-deployed location in the Arabian Gulf region completed hours of hard work in the blazing sun recently to build a playground for children in a neighboring town. Chaplain helps mission, local orphans in Central Asia
Lt. Col. George J. Brubaker is a Chaplain for the 166th Airlift Wing, Delaware Air National Guard, and a catholic priest and pastor of St. John’s Catholic Church in Milford, Delaware. Cooch’s Bridge 225th Anniversary Ceremony
The only Revolutionary
War battle fought on Delaware soil and the debut of the Stars and Stripes
was remembered on Saturday, August 24, with remarks and a
re-enactment at Cooch’s Bridge near Glasgow.

was a great opportunity for the Base Honor Guard as practices for events are usually
limited to a few members and are done just scant hours before
a particular job or event is to take
place. Send-off ceremony held for 153rd's upcoming
deployment
On August 12th, the Delaware Army National Guard held a send-off ceremony at Fort Du Pont in Delaware City for the 153rd Military Police Company. The 153rd began a 270-day activation and deployment in support of Operation Desert Spring in Saudi Arabia. Officer Candidate School Class #45 graduated from the 193rd Regiment Regional Training Institute on August 11. The graduating class consisted of 10 members. Eight of the 10 members of the class accepted their gold bars during the commissioning ceremony for their hard work. |
