WHO BENEFITS?

The Family Member

The Family Program keeps family members and loved ones informed on military issues. The program educates on benefits and entitlements, and encourages family members and loved ones to be self-sufficient. It also enables family members and loved ones to provide mutual help and emotional support to one another

The Commander

The Family Program helps commanders enhance unit readiness by minimizing training distracters and conserving the commander’s time and resources. A successful Family Program helps enhance individual readiness by preventing family problems that can affect the service member’s performance. The Family Program is a good reason for good soldiers to stay in the Guard.

The Service Member

The Family Program assures the service member that loved ones will have support and assistance in times of absence. Service members train more effectively knowing there won’t be problems waiting at home when they return.

Our Family Program promotes wellness and retention of the Guard member by providing services to the member, family and extended family thus creating a mission ready Airman and Soldier.  By taking advantage of these two quality training sessions, the families become more ready and able to deal with mobilization and demobilization issues.

AIFSN Website

The Army Integrated Family Support Network (AIFSN) delivery system offers our Soldiers and Families the support they deserve, especially, the geographically dispersed. It "connects" the geographically separated Army and Families, and provides access to all Family programs and services. The idea is to harness the resources that are already in place, use personal contact and technology to improve on the delivery of service so that Families get support closest to where they live.

From mobilized Soldiers, to recruiters, to Families located outside reasonable driving distances to military Facilities -- The Network provides information, tools and resources. It’s made up of Garrison Army Community Service, Child and Youth Services, Guard Family Assistance Centers, Reserve Readiness Centers and civilian community agencies.

By combining and linking resources, AIFSN gives Army Families a choice. Access services by phone, the internet, and when situations dictate, travel to the nearest facility to receive personalized support. Click on Lifelong Learning for Army Family Team Building courses.

AIFSN’s network of support services increases overall Family readiness, improves quality of life and helps prepare your Family for anything that might come your way.
