166th Airlift Wing

The 166th Airlift Wing (166th AW) is a Delaware Air National Guard wing headquartered in New Castle, Delaware. Operating eight permanently assigned, Lockheed C-130H2 transport aircraft, the wing provides the U.S. Air Force with tactical airlift and airdrop of troops, cargo and passengers and aeromedical evacuation of patients anywhere in the world.

166th Operations Group

The 166th Operations Group oversees all operations pertaining to the flying mission of the 166th AW. The group is comprised of the 142nd Aeromedical Evacuation Squadron, 142nd Airlift Squadron and the 166th Operations Support Flight.

166th Medical Group

The 166th Medical Group ensures that the personnel of the Delaware Air National Guard, and others as designated, are medically qualified for flight duty and world-wide deployment.

166th Mission Support Group

The 166th Mission Support Group manages people and resources in support of the war fighter to ensure that all personnel are ready and able to deploy in support of contingencies and exercises anywhere in the world.

166th Maintenance Group

166th Maintenance Group is responsible for the maintenance of eight C-130H2 aircraft. These cargo aircraft provide tactical airlift and airdrop missions all over the world in support of in-place and deployed combat operations.

166th Network Warfare Squadron

166th Network Warfare Squadron works in the field of cyberspace, which includes network security, data transmission and the sharing of information. It helps meet the mission of the United States Air Force to deliver sovereign options for the defense of the United States of America and its global interests -- to fly and fight in Air, Space, and Cyberspace.

DEERS/RAPIDS

The DEERS/RAPIDS Office issues new, or, updates existing Common Access Cards (CAC) and dependent ID cards. The CAC is an identification card with a tiny personal database embedded in it that can be used for access to buildings, networks, and email. CAC's are issued to all Active Duty/Reserve/Guard/DOD Civilians/DOD Contractors. To receive a Department of Defense identification card or a CAC, all personnel must bring two forms of approved ID, one of which must bear a photo. A current or expired ID card/CAC is considered a valid form of ID. All beneficiaries are reminded that their personal information must be current in the Defense Enrollment Eligibility Reporting System (DEERS).

Joint Force Resources

Resources for all national guard units assigned to the state which provide trained, equipped and ready forces capable of mobilizing and deploying in support of their federal and state mission and, when required, conduct missions authorized by the national command authority and/or the governor.
