The mission of the 166th Maintenance Group is to ensure that assigned aircraft and equipment are safe, serviceable, and properly configured to meet on time mission requirements. Maintenance functions include the entire gamut of inspection, repair, overhaul, modification, preservation, refurbishment, testing, analysis of conditions and ensuring performance. The men and women of the group have participated in every major military operation since 9/11 directly supporting the warfighter with safe and reliable aircraft throughout the world, fulfilling its global peacetime and combat mobility requirements to support contingencies and exercises.
166th Maintenance Operations Flight
The 166th MOF provides the full range of logistical support for personnel within the 166th MXG, and supports the 166th Aircraft Maintenance Squadron and the 166th Maintenance Squadron. The flight provides aircraft maintenance staff functions required for the efficient operation of the group. Flight sections are the Maintenance Operations Center; Plans, Scheduling, and Documentation; Engine Management; Training Management; Maintenance Analysis; and Maintenance Plans and Programs.
166th Aircraft Maintenance Squadron
The 166th AMXS provides safe, reliable aircraft and dependable maintenance support, and carries out its mission through the dedicated actions of the flightline maintainers who endure the elements to provide mission-ready aircraft.
166th Maintenance Squadron
The 166th MXS provides trained maintenance specialists for the U.S. Air Force's cargo transport aircraft, the C-130 Hercules. The squadron is comprised of the Field Maintenance Branch and the Component Repair Branch. They inspect and repair aircraft system components, including avionics, hydraulics and electro-environmental systems, field inspect/repair fuel systems, perform local fabrication and manufacturing, and perform painting and corrosion control of aircraft parts. In addition, an isochronal inspection team ensures aircraft serviceability and safety by performing in-depth annual inspections of aircraft. The squadron provides all munitions and aerospace ground equipment support to the wing.
