The 193rd Regiment Regional Training Institute (RTI), located at Bethany Beach, is the home of the Delaware Officer Candidate School. The Officer Candidate School had been conducted by the RTI (former State Academy) since Class #1 in 1957. In April, the new class will begin its march down the road to the "Gold Bar" and commissioning as a Second Lieutenant in the Army National Guard and as a Reserve Officer of the Army. This rigorous course stresses the development of leadership skills and has the mission of providing only the finest leaders for the soldiers who wear the uniform of the United States Army.
