The officer candidate school is what is often referred to as "branch" immaterial, that is, it teaches the skills which would be required of an officer in any branch. O.C.S. is designed to train, evaluate and develop leadership potential. The course is designed to be challenging. O.C.S. is charged with creating the finest possible leaders to lead our soldiers in the accomplishment of future missions.

The course is taught through an orientation and 4 training phases:

Orientation MUTA 2 Overview of Program – Admin Actions (January)
Phase 0 3 months of MUTA 4 s (March – May 2002)
Phase 1 2 Week annual training period (8-22 June 2002)
Phase 2 12 Months of MUTA 5s weekend assemblies (July 2002 - June2003)
Phase 3 2 Week annual training period (Usually in July or August 03)
Graduation  August or September 2003

The 193rd Regiment (RTI) is proud of those who have graduated from the Officer Candidate School. The RTI has seen the ascent of its alumni to positions of high responsibility within the National Guard and the U.S. Army to include the Adjutant General, Assistant Adjutant General and Senior Command positions.
